A Virtual BB attends and participates in all virtual camp activities, including support groups.

  • A Virtual BB's main role is to be a support system and role model for the campers in their group.
  • A Virtual BB has a big heart and excellent listening skills. They are also compassionate, nonjudgmental, flexible, fun, and must be good team players.
  • A Virtual BB does not give advice; they are there to "witness" what campers are going through and provide support when needed.
  • A Virtual BB takes his/her cue from the Support Group Leader who they will meet before the virtual camp begins.

Below is a description of a Big Buddy IF we were to be at Camp Quinipet.
  1. Big Buddies are paired one-to-one with campers who have experienced the death of a parent and/or sibling.
  2. Big Buddies are "big brothers" and "big sisters" to their camper for the entire weekend of camp activities
  3. Big Buddies have big hearts and excellent listening skills. They are also compassionate, nonjudgmental, flexible, fun, and must be good team players.
  4. Big Buddies do not give advice; they are there to "witness" what campers are going through and provide support when needed.
