On Tuesdays and Thursdays in the spring, volunteers work with farm staff in the greenhouse to get our seeding, transpotting, watering, and other greenhouse tasks accomplished. Volunteers can come any days they are available-- no minimum commitment, any help is appreciated! The plants we grow are sold at a plant sale, helping to fund our community farm, and become the vegetables we sell and donate throughout the community. Your help contributes to building our local food system!

Volunteers also don't have to come for the whole time-- we just ask that you come for at least 2 hours, so we can get you set up and have it worth your time.

Mission Statement

Brookwood Community Farm's purpose is to reclaim underutilized farmland for agricultural and research purposes, while maintaining and cultivating ecological richness and diversity and involving local communities in educational programs and direct hands on participation in farming and conservation activities.

Description

The Brookwood Community Farm is a working farm located in Milton and Canton, MA. Brookwood Community Farm’s mission is to build a farm-centered community that members call their own. Farm members are united by a shared passion for sustainable agriculture, fresh local food, and a commitment to increasing access to healthy food. Brookwood grows food sustainably for members through a community supported agriculture (CSA) model, provides on-farm educational and community-building opportunities, and actively supports food access projects. Although Brookwood Community Farm is not organic certified, we follow the Northeast Organic Farmer’s Association organic pledge, which outlines the environmentally and socially sustainable practices we follow.
