ORGANIZATION: Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy

Join us at Abalone Cove Reserve for our Outdoor Volunteer Day from 9am to 12pm! We will be planting native shrubs and removing invasive weeds in order to improve wildlife habitat for protected species such as the California gnatcatcher and cactus wren! This event will meet at the entrance of Abalone Cove Reserve: 5970 Palos Verdes Dr South, Rancho Palos Verdes, Ca 90275 We will be working outdoors, so please wear closed-toed shoes, sun protection and be sure to bring drinking water and a snack. The mission of the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy (PVPLC) is to "preserve land and restore habitat for the education and enjoyment of all."

Description

The Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy (PVPLC) manages over 1600 acres of open space on the Palos Verdes Peninsula, and two nature centers with native plant demonstration gardens. The PVPLC engages volunteers in the development and maintenance of native plant gardens in order to demonstrate how gardening with native plants is beneficial for the environment.
