ORGANIZATION: St. Vrain Habitat

  • A group opportunity. Invite your friends.

Come build with Habitat for Humanity of the St. Vrain Valley! This project is part of our Neighborhood Revitalization initiative where we'll be focusing on construction and critical repair in already existing housing located in an area of Dacono called The Glens. No experience is necessary, but certainly always welcome.

Critical repair projects consist of exterior work such as roofing repair, replacing siding, exterior paint and landscaping. Volunteers will also do interior work including replacing windows and doors, installing bathroom and kitchen fixtures, flooring, and painting.

Habitat for Humanity's Mission Statement: "Seeking to put God’s love into action, Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, communities and hope."

About St. Vrain Habitat

Location:

P.O. Box 333, 303 Atwood St, Longmont, CO 80501, US

Mission Statement

Since 1988, Habitat for Humanity of the St. Vrain Valley has been building simple, decent, affordable homes for those in need throughout our community. The mission of Habitat for Humanity is "to put God’s love into action, bringing people together to build homes, communities and hope."

Description

Based in Longmont, Habitat for Humanity of the St. Vrain Valley has built 72 homes locally and 130 internationally. Our homes are sold to qualified family partners at cost with a no-profit mortgage. As homeowners repay their mortgage, the funds are invested into building more homes for deserving families. We select homeowner families based on their need for adequate shelter, their ability to pay for a Habitat home, and their willingness to partner with Habitat for Humanity, including taking financial and homeownership classes. All homeowners contribute "sweat equity"; they work in partnership with the affiliate and other volunteers, contributing up to 500 hours of volunteer service.
