WHO WE WANT
We are looking for passionate and energetic individuals who would like to make an impact in children's lives. Someone who will be proactive about resolving conflicts and redirecting behavior in a positive way. Must be able to communicate and serve as a leader and role model for their campers. Must be comfortable working with a diverse population. Candidates must have patience for working with children. Experience working with children is preferred, but not required.
JOB DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES
Camp Counselors are assigned in pairs to lead a cabin with up to 10 campers. Campers range in age from 7 to 17 years old. Counselors are responsible for paying attention to each campers individual needs and build trusting relationships. Counselors will help campers to be ready for the day. Counselors may lead activities, sing songs, and participate enthusiastically in all camp activities. They must encourage campers to be active and to create friendships. They should instill confidence in the campers to improve their self-esteem.
TRAINING DATES/CAMP WEEK
Interested candidates must be able to attend all or most of the following training dates/times:
Saturday, April 4th from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
Saturday, April 25th from 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Saturday, June 6th from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
Saturday, June 27th from 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Saturday, July 11th from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
Wednesday, July 15th from 4:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.
Camp week is held for one week during the summer from Saturday, July 25th to Saturday, August 1st. Interested candidates must be able to attend ALL of camp week.
ABOUT CAMP ROUND MEADOW
Camp Round Meadow is located in the San Bernardino mountains of Southern California. Activities include zip-lining, swimming, canoeing, hiking, archery, arts & crafts, and much more! Room and board is included.
