Join our Volunteer Naturalists to lead outdoor education programs for small groups of students from K to 12 in the spring and fall. Field trips generally run from 10 am to 2 pm Tuesday through Friday. Volunteers help with a minimum of two programs per month. Jug Bay Wetlands Sanctuary will provide the training, you provide the enthusiasm to get kids outside. Open house on Thursday, February 27, from 10 to noon. Training on March 6, 9am to 4pm. Jug Bay is located approximately 20 miles east of DC and 20 miles south of Annapolis. Learn about this beautiful wetlands sanctuary and share your love of nature with the next generation.

Description
The Jug Bay Wetlands Sanctuary consists of more than 1700 acres of tidal freshwater wetlands, forests, meadows and fields along the Patuxent River. The sanctuary is located in southern Anne Arundel County, less than 30 miles from Washington D.C., Prince Frederick, and Annapolis. The wetlands, with large stands of aquatic plants, are home to many birds, fish, reptiles, and mammals.
