ORGANIZATION: VEAP- Volunteers Enlisted to Assist People

Are you bilingual in English and Spanish? Are you looking for ways to serve your community? Spanish is the primary language of more than a thousand of our visitors year-round and our bilingual volunteers play a vital role in supporting them! We offer our volunteers on-the-job training, flexible scheduling and a variety of fun and diverse opportunities to serve.

Open Opportunities (Ages 18+):

  • Greet, schedule or check-in visitors for food pantry visits!
  • Assist visitors with check-in, shopping and check-out!
  • Stock our mobile pantry bus and join us out in the community!

Description

VEAP is a basic needs and social services organization whose programs promote access to healthy foods, stable housing and transportation. VEAP’s programs are designed to address a particular need and when used together provide hope and can help avoid a financial crisis such as loss of housing, transportation or employment. Whether the hardship is from a disability, job transition, or the financial and physical stresses of aging, VEAP has been helping our neighbors in need for over 40 years in Bloomington, Richfield, and Edina.

  • Orientation or Training
  • Shifts are typically three hours in length and begin every weekday at 8:15am, 11:30am, or 2:15pm. We have one evening shift on Thursdays beginning at 5:00pm and ending at 7:15pm. Schedules are flexible.
