Patient Care

Volunteers will visit patients and read, play games, watch movies, chat, look through photo albums, wheel patients to meals, wheel them outside, enjoy batting a balloon around, blowing bubbles, or a myriad of things to provide companionship to elderly members of our communities.

Clerical Support

Volunteers will help in the office with organizing, record-keeping, taking notes, and a myriad of other small tasks that help keep the office running and enable staff members to spend more time on patient care.

Bereavement Support

Volunteers will provide clerical support for our chaplain and will work with families that have lost loved ones. These volunteers may visit with spouse after death of loved one and just be there to listen. They also assist in any way with our Memorial Services and make Care Calls to just check in.

Jr Volunteer Program

This program allows our patients to interact with children between10-12. These children will read to our patients, talk with them and enjoy them as if they were their own grandparents. For the young adults (TEEN PROGRAM) 13-17 they will be capturing the life stories of our patients and our goal is to compile their stories and create a keepsake book, Bringing Generations Together.

Midnight Angels - A Midnight Angel is a non-medical person who is trained to provide emotional support to the patient and caregivers in the last hours of life.

This program brings the volunteer’s to the patient’s bedside so that no one dies alone. Everyone does not always have a family and our goal is to offer emotional support for patients and their families.

Mission Statement

Homestead Hospice will deliver unparalleled individualized care to our patients and families in their home, to assure that their most important journey on this earth is full of joy and comfort.

Homestead Hospice care is about making every moment count. Focusing on quality of life, treating the person rather than the disease. Providing tailored services that treat the mind, body and spirit in the comfort of the patient’s place of residence, so they can embrace life with family and friends. Being committed to staying by the patient and family’s side throughout life’s most important journey.

Homestead Hospice offers unique programs like Care Beyond Cancer and proactive Crisis Care (c), which are designed to enhance the patient's and caregiver's awareness of what to expect and proactively prepare them for possible disease-specific symptoms.

The Homestead interdisciplinary team of professionals will work to provide physical, clinical, emotional and spiritual support that enables the patient and their family to spend quality time together. This team of professionals not only provides traditional medical care, but also holistic therapies to ensure the patient's quality of life is comfortable and pain-free.
