The Soles4Souls New Jersey branch is looking for 4-6 volunteers to help us spread the word about our mission and educate attendees of the USA Track & Field Half-Marathon. The race will take place on Sunday, October 11th, 2020 from 7 am-12 pm.
We are looking for a total of 4-6 individuals to volunteer in pairs or groups of 3 for 2 hrs. You will talk about Soles4Souls, collect shoe donations, sign-up people for our newsletter and let people know how they can become involved.
You Can Volunteer in 2 hr Shifts:
1st Shift--7:30-9:30 am
2nd Shift--9:30-11:30 am
1st Shift Responsibilities:
- The week prior to the event, you will need to pick-up the Soles4Souls tabling materials from Centenary University, Community Engagement Office in Hackettstown
- Your shifts starts at 7:30 am. Please allot enough for your to arrive and set-up the table
- Please pair shoe donations by tying the laces or rubber band pairs together. Re-bag them with the garbage bags that are provide with 10 pairs in each bag. Place the provided donor form inside every bag that is filled.
- Please inform the 2nd shift the total # of pairs you collected so far
- You can begin break down at/around 11:30 am or until the crowd clears
- You will be responsible for dropping-off the tabling materials and shoe donations to Centenary University, Community Engagement Office the week after the event
- Please pair any final shoe donations by tying the laces or rubber band pairs together. Re-bag them with the garbage bags that are provide with 10 pairs in each bag. Place the provided donor form inside every bag that is filled.
- Once you have your total count, please text Regional Manager Lizzy the total # of pairs.
- The race will provide a table for you. Chairs may not be provided, but you are more than welcome to bring your own.
- No parking is available at the school. Parking will be available at the Panther Valley Mall, State Highway 517, Allamuchy. The free shuttle buses will take you to and from the start and finish marks as well as to and from parking areas. They will be available at 7:00 AM and run until 12:30 PM.
