The Pittsburgh Japanese Culture Society is looking for dedicated volunteers for our flagship cultural event, Tekko 2020, the region's premier Japanese Pop Culture Convention. Tekko 2020 brings international music, fashion, and gaming to the Pittsburgh area to advocate cultural diversity and acceptance in a safe, fun environment.
Tekko 2020 is expected to have well over 10,000 people in attendance, and to make an event of this size happen we need your help!
Volunteer position available include positions in Sales, Operations, Programming, Escape Room, and Security. No experience is needed, and we are happy to work with all volunteer abilities.
Requirements:
- Volunteers must be at least sixteen (16) years of age,
- Must be willing to fill out our external application.
- Ability to work 12 hours throughout the entire weekend of the event.
- Volunteers must be ready, willing, and able to volunteer at the event.
Volunteers Receive:
- Staff Badge
- Staff T-Shirt
- Access to Staff Hospitality room with provided food.
- A free compensated attendance badge that can be given as a gift to a friend or family member
- A free Tekko 2020 souvinir cup

Description
The Pittsburgh Japanese Culture Society (PittJCS) is a completely volunteer organization that hosts a myriad of cultural events throughout the city. Our signature event is Tekko, a Japanese Pop Culture event, which expects nearly 10,000 attendees. Other events we host include The KuroKiiro Festival,- an all ages Educational Event, the Sangawa Project, and Kennywood Asian Heritage Day.
