Volunteering Brings Joy!

RoseRock Healthcare is looking for a few dedicated licensed pet therapy animals (and their humans) to visit hospice patients in their homes or at a skilled nursing facility.

Pet therapy has been shown to have measurable benefits for many health conditions. It utilizes the natural bond between humans and animals to provide peace, comfort and soothing companionship to people facing a life limiting illness. It lifts their spirits, decreases depression, reduces feelings of isolation and alienation, encourages communication which may also increases socialization. Even the surrounding non-hospice patients and/or family benefit from these visits. These furry visitors act as a non-judgmental listener or a quiet friend.

If you are interested in volunteering your time helping those who are terminally ill, please contact us at your earliest convenience.

Mission Statement

RoseRock Healthcare, a hospice care provider, has assembled an experienced hospice team to support patients with cancer, heart disease, breathing disorders and other life-limiting disease. Even long-time sufferers of Alzheimer’s disease and Parkinson’s disease may be eligible to receive hospice services. At RoseRock, we understand that profound illness is a challenge for both patients and their families. The healthcare system offers many alternatives, experts and treatments as long as patients are hunting for a cure. But when cure is no longer an option, a different expert is needed, one who can help answer the stark question, "what now?" That is where RoseRock Healthcare can step in to help patients and their families.

Description

RoseRock Hospice caregivers are trained in managing the symptoms that accompany serious illness including pain, shortness of breath, fatigue and nausea. With our help, these physical symptoms along with anxiety, depression, grief and sadness can all be reduced in the comfort of home.

We cannot change the course of disease, but RoseRock Hospice services can help improve each day that our patients live.

RoseRock has been granted Medicare’s special certification as a provider of hospice care. For eligible patients, there are no out-of-pocket expenses. RoseRock also works with many private insurers. RoseRock Hospice serves patients throughout northeastern Oklahoma.
