We are looking for volunteers to help with childcare during our support groups. Trauma informed care and trauma training are included with volunteer placement. You'll become part of a team dedicated to serving Madison families and children.

Our vision is to create a safe, healthy and nurturing world for children & families.

At The Rainbow Project, we provide restorative healing and hope for young children and their families who have experienced trauma, helping them build a foundation for the mastery of life-sustaining skills.

We serve families with young children, primarily ages 10 & under, in Dane County, Wisconsin, and the surrounding areas. The Rainbow Project provides individualized and responsive services within a variety of settings. Services include short and long-term counseling, prevention and early intervention.

These services are intended to...

  • Promote positive change within families, including building, strengthening & supporting healthy parent/child relationships.
  • Provide prevention, intervention, and treatment for families affected by family violence (including families with patterns that place members at risk for maltreatment or future mental health concerns).
  • Advocate for the mental health needs and support of families and children in the community.
  • Strengthen the community to support those who have experienced trauma.

Services offered may include one or more of the following:

  • Comprehensive diagnostic assessment and developmental evaluation, with emphasis on social-emotional development and behavior for young children & adults
  • Assessment of parent-child interaction and family relationships
  • Referral services to other specialized community services for family members
