Do you want to help the Immigrant Population?
The Catholic Charities Dutchess County Center Of Opportunity Of The Office For New Americans is in need of volunteers for a Receptionist position.
We are open to people who can only volunteer half a day.
The Center of Opportunity is open from 9:00am to 1:00pm and 2:00pm to 5:00pm Monday thru Friday.
We currently need a receptionist for Tuesdays, every other Thursday and Fridays.
The tasks that you would perform be:
-Welcoming clients to our Opportunity Center.
-Answering phone calls.
-Scheduling clients' appointments.
-Referring clients to the professional that has been assigned to his/her case.
-Notifying the Attorneys or Migration Counselor that their client has arrived.
-Making sure the client signs the sign-in form when he/she arrives to the Center Of Opportunity.
-Making sure the client fills out the required paperwork.

- Green card replacement
- 5,215 vulnerable immigrants provided with expert counsel and safeguarded from exploitation
- 52,790 calls for help answered promptly with accurate information in multiple languages
- 296 breadwinners helped to obtain authorization to work
- 160 immigrants reunited with their families
- 820 newcomers taught English and civics
- 4,047 unaccompanied children given legal orientation
- 701 refugees and asylees provided with employment and resettlement support
- 4,160 adults and children provided with legal representation
