Twin Cities PBS "Be My Neighbor Day"
Join TFBB, TC PBS & Daniel Tiger for free books & lots of fun, as we celebrate families & children from across the Twin Cities. We will provide our free books to all children that attend this event in downtown
St. Paul. Come volunteer for an hour or two. Join us for a fun-filled day at PBS!

Mission: To provide books to children and ignite a passion for reading that empowers each child to explore a world of opportunity. Vision: We envision a world where all children have their own home library and become lifelong learners through the joy of reading. Our aim is to accept new and pre-loved children's books, keep them out of landfills and give them all away to children across Minnesota and beyond. We value our core belief that ALL children deserve the right to access age-appropriate books to have in their homes. We are proud of our all-volunteer organization and look forward to growing and having Free Book Buggies bookin' it across Minnesota!
Description
The Free Book Buggie is a non profit that is passionate about books and sharing the love of reading with all children. Our goal is to provide age-appropriate books that show children reading is fun, allow them to dream, learn, go on adventures, and be empowered to shape their future.
What we do:
- collect thousands of donated books
- sort our books by reading levels, baby up to high school chapter
- fill the Buggie with books & travel to events across the Twin Cities
- empower children to choose books THEY like
- volunteer "reading buddies" provided at certain events
- supply children's books to organizations in need
- partner with over 300 organizations
- restock empty Little Free Libraries!

REQUIREMENTS
- This is an ALL DAY event, so we would love if volunteers could sign up for a 2-hour time slot. However, any amount of time is appreciated. We are sure that once you get there, you won't want to leave the fun!!
- We ask that you have a genuine love of reading, books & interacting with children & families.
