We are looking for volunteer coaches to assist with our spring 2020 season at sites in multiple locations throughout Cabarrus and Mecklenburg Counties. Our girls meet for a 10-week season, twice per week for 75-90 minutes. Spring 2020 season begins the week of February 3rd and concludes with a celebratory 5K the first weekend in May.
Girls on the Run Coaches are as unique as the girls they serve. Just like the girls, many are not runners. They are people just like YOU who take great pride and care in role modelling character, connectedness, and inner strength. Enjoy the Girls on the Run experience of receiving hugs, giving energy awards and developing self respect in 3rd-8th grade girls. Help us to build joyful, healthy, and confident young girls by becoming a coach TODAY!
Coach Roles:
- Coach - 18+ years old, training and background check required, attends practices 1 - 2 times per week
- Junior Coach - High School Student, 16-18 years old, training required, attends at least one practice per week
- Substitute Coach - 18+ years old, training and background check required, attends practices as needed
GOTR Charlotte provides training, materials and on-going support throughout the program season. Volunteers can select the program site in which they will volunteer. Questions? Email cfinley@girlsontherun.org.

Mission Statement
We inspire girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running.
Description
At Girls on the Run we inspire girls to recognize their inner strength and celebrate what makes them one of a kind. Trained coaches lead small teams through our research-based curricula which includes dynamic discussions, activities and running games. Over the course of the ten-week program, girls in 3rd-8th grade develop essential skills to help them navigate their worlds and establish a lifetime appreciation for health and fitness. The program culminates with girls positively impacting their communities through a service project and being physically and emotionally prepared to complete a celebratory 5K event.
