ORGANIZATION: Kansas City Public Library

Hope Faith Ministries Inc. (HF) AmeriCorps VISTA member will work to increase program and service effectiveness for individuals experiencing homelessness and those at-risk, by assisting in program capacity building, data collection and analysis, program documentation, program coordination, and communication with external partners. Hope Faith is the only daytime homeless assistance campus in Kansas City, Missouri. Providing direct services to individuals, Monday-Saturday, who are experiencing homelessness, or are at-risk individuals, families, or youth. The campus provides for immediate needs such as food, showers, clothing, laundry service, case management, and other essential services. Hope Faith provides office space and operational support for on-site partners that provide medical, dental, vision, and mental health services as well as additional case management resources. HOPE FAITH's continuous collaboration with external partners and service providers to offer the best possible solutions to empower individuals and break the cycles of homelessness and poverty.
Under the supervision of the Director of Programs and in collaboration with Hope Faith direct program team members, the Program Specialist AmeriCorps VISTA will work to improve and enhance the capacity of programs and implement improvements across all programs. These programs address the wide scope of needs of people experiencing homelessness from immediate necessities such as food to long term stability and housing through case management. Will manage communications with partner agencies and organizations and participate in community engagement opportunities. Improve program effectiveness by coordinating capacity building tasks and projects. Increase program resource capacity by identifying partnerships and funding opportunities. Will work on program documentation and assist in creating communication pieces such as handouts, instructions, and flyers. Will assist in developing program metrics and data evaluation tools.
