The Summer Camp Administrative Assistant provides adult volunteer support to the Program Director of Scherman Hoffman Wildlife Sanctuary in a wide range of administrative duties for the education department. The Summer Camp Administrative Assistant takes an active role in promoting New Jersey Audubon as a membership-based conservation and environmental organization. The volunteer’s major responsibilities include:
- Prepare advertising/marketing of summer camps for a variety of media - internet, newspapers, flyers (November/December and through June);
- Process on-line summer camp registrations (all year and mostly January through June);
- Maintain camper information and provide information to summer camp teachers/leaders (year round and especially June through August);
- Coordinate Monday morning summer camp check-in process (June through August);
- Update NJ Audubon summer camp registration pages on Active Camp & Class Manager (and on-line website) (November/December); and,
- Prepare and submit reports about the summer camps (late June through August)

Description
In order to achieve its purpose, New Jersey Audubon, through its Board of Directors, professional staff, members, and volunteers, endeavors to:
- Develop, encourage, and support sound conservation practices, programs, and legislation.
- Disseminate information on the natural environment through education programs, information services, and publications.
- Advance knowledge of New Jersey's flora and fauna, and their relationships to the habitats on which they depend, through field research.
- Acquire, establish, and maintain wildlife sanctuaries and educational centers.
New Jersey Audubon maintains stewardship of 34 sanctuaries and conducts its programs through nine staffed facilities.

- Must be at least 21
- Requires a dedicated resource especially March thru Aug. and Nov. and Dec.. Minimally 2 mornings/week, including Monday morning during the summer camps (late June through August). Mostly on-site, and some remote work. Flexibility to meet deadlines.
- Well organized, able to multitask and meet deadlines. Excellent verbal/written communication skills. Good interpersonal skills. Experience with Microsoft Office, basic internet facility, experience with Active Camp & Class Manager a plus.
