ABOUT BRIDGET'S CRADLES:
Bridget's Cradles is a 501c3 nonprofit organization incorporated in the state of Kansas. We provide hospitals with knitted and crocheted cradles to hold babies who were born into Heaven during the second trimester of pregnancy. We also lead a local support ministry and provide hope-filled resources online. Currently, Bridget’s Cradles supports over 800 hospitals nationwide, including 46 hospitals in the state of California, with 16 of those hospitals located in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Additionally, our organization supports families who have experienced miscarriage, stillbirth, or infant loss by providing hope-filled and Christ-centered resources and encouragement on our website and social media pages. Lastly, Bridget's Cradlesraises awareness about pregnancy loss in the hope that babies in Heaven would be acknowledged and bereaved families would be supported in their grief.

Bridget’s Cradles was founded after the birth of Matt and Ashley Opliger's daughter, Bridget Faith. She was stillborn at 24 weeks and 5 days on October 22, 2014 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas. Due to complications in Ashley's pregnancy and a poor prognosis given to them by doctors, Bridget's grandma, Teresa, knit a special cradle for her the week before she was born. On the day Bridget was born, Matt and Ashley and their families held her in the cradle, loving on her and making cherished memories with her.

Description

Bridget’s Cradles Foundation is a 501c3 nonprofit organization based in Wichita, Kansas. Bridget’s Cradles provides knitted and crocheted cradles to labor and delivery units at hospitals to offer to bereaved families who have lost babies in the second trimester of pregnancy. We also provide special knitted squares and keepsakes for families who have experienced loss in the first or third trimester of pregnancy. In addition, we offer support to families during the bereavement and grieving process and raise awareness about pregnancy loss to the general public via our website and social media outlets.

Bridget’s Cradles began after the birth of my daughter, Bridget Faith Opliger, who was stillborn on October 22, 2014 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas. My mother, Teresa Golik, had knit a special cradle for Bridget. It was such a blessing to have something to hold Bridget, who was only 13 ounces, and be able to love and bond with her during the time we had with her. Since then, we have been committed to helping other families suffering the loss of their baby by donating cradles to hospitals and sharing resources to support and encourage them during their grieving and healing journey.
