On Saturday, May 16, 2020, NAMI Mass will hold its 17th Annual NAMIWalks Massachusetts event along the Charles River at DCR’s Artesani Park in Boston.

Volunteer shifts start from 6 am and go until 2 pm on May, 16th, and we will need at least 120 volunteers to make the Walk a success!

We seek to improve the quality of life both for people with mental illness and for their families.

Description

NAMI Mass is a non profit organization serving the needs of the mental health community in Massachusetts. We are a state resource for individuals and families facing the challenges of mental illness, providing free mental health family-based education, family and peer support and grassroots advocacy. NAMI Mass provides education, support and advocacy at individual, community, state and federal levels to motivate policy change and increase funding and services for those with the greatest need. The state's "voice on mental illness," NAMI Mass represents families, individuals with mental illness and our professional partners in the mental health community creating successful partnerships.

REQUIREMENTS

  • There are several shifts to choose from, starting the evening before the event on 5/15/2020 around 5 pm. On the day of the event, 5/16/2020, we have different shifts all day from 6 am- 2 pm.
  • Volunteers must be 18 or have a parent/guardian sign off on them
