We are closely monitoring the COVID-19 situation to keep our CASA volunteers, youth, and CASA staff safe. To prepare for regular operations, we are transitioning to recruiting and training new CASA volunteers remotely.

CASA volunteers change a child's story by becoming a trusted advocate for the best interests of children and teens in foster care to help them reach permanent, safe housing. We hope that you will consider joining us so that we can all support those who may need it most.

To learn more about volunteering with us, attend the next online Volunteer Information Session,
on Tuesday, March 31, 2020 at 6 pm. The training will take place online using Webex.

Mission Statement

Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA)/Prince George's County, Inc. is a volunteer-based organization that partners with the juvenile court to positively impact the lives of abused and neglected youth living in foster care. CASA volunteers change a child's story by becoming a trusted advocate for the best interests of children and teens.

Description

Every year more than half a million abused and neglected children are in need of safe, permanent, nurturing homes. That's where CASA steps in. CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) was created in 1977 to make sure the abuse and neglect these children originally suffered at home doesn't continue as abuse and neglect at the hands of the system. As trained advocates, CASA volunteers are appointed by judges to be a voice for these children in court. The result is that a child is placed into a safe, loving home where he/she can thrive. It is the CASA vision to provide a volunteer for each and every abused and neglected child who needs one.
