  • A group opportunity. Invite your friends.

Volunteer for Team Bake Chop and help cook simple meals for families and children.
Soup, stews, cookies, macaroni and cheese, and more!

Volunteer to help for 2 hours if you are over the age of 18 years, have an interest in cooking, and enjoy helping others. No previous experience is required.

The food you help cook is delivered by other volunteers to family members at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital. These family members are spending long hours at their child's bedside because their child has a critical illness. Family members enjoy receiving simple, home-style, microwaveable meals. It helps reduce stress from day-to-day activities, and gives them more time to focus on the health and well-being of their sick child.

Come in good health, wear closed-toe shoes, and have fun! You are welcome to bring your own apron.
"Good health" means that you have not recently been sick in a way that could result in others becoming sick.

IMPORTANT! Include your telephone number when you sign-up. We reply to emails but our replies often go unnoticed into junk mail. We also want to text/call you to confirm your participation.
Thank you!

Team Bake Chop meets monthly.
Come once or come often... you choose.
No ongoing commitment is required.

Mission Statement

The mission of There With Care is to provide a wide range of meaningful and fundamental services to families and children during the critical phase of a medical crisis. We serve families referred by medical agencies, by building a network of services and people who ease the burden of life's day-to-day obligations with compassion and care.

Description

The Bay Area Chapter was created in 2011, seven years after the founding chapter opened in Colorado. There With Care receives referrals from medical social workers at Lucile Packard Children's Hospital in Palo Alto and UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital in Mission Bay, San Francisco. When a family receives a medical diagnosis of critical illness for their child, There With Care connects with the family and engages community members and organizations to volunteer to help ease the stress of their day-to-day life activities.

For information on the experiences of families and children facing critical illness; There With Care's programs and services, and ways to participate and support families, please visit our website: therewithcare.org (Select the "Bay Area" location.

We look forward to you joining the network of care and support that surrounds families. Thank you!
