Join our team to help us save more lives! The Grants Specialist will craft and implement a grant / foundation giving program that will financially support the mission of the Humane Society of Loudoun County (HSLC) and expand its reach, impact, and visibility. The HSLC board has identified this position as one of the highest priorities to continue saving animals in 2020 and beyond.

The Grants Coordinator will create, grow, and manage a portfolio of foundation partners. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Conducting regular research on grant and foundation prospects.
  • Creating a case for support geared toward foundations.
  • Coordinating regular outreach to new prospects via mail, email, and phone.
  • Developing and submitting grant proposals. Completing grant applications in a timely and thorough manner.
  • Developing, coordinating, and submitting grant updates and reporting requirements for grants awarded to HSLC.
  • Providing monthly updates to the Fundraising Program Manager.

  • HSLC Orientation or Training
  • Time commitment is approximately 15-20 hours a month, but may fluctuate based on foundation grant deadlines.
  • Strongly Desired: Previous experience in creating or executing foundation / grant outreach programs.

The Humane Society of Loudoun County (HSLC) is a non profit 501(3)c animal welfare organization founded in 1966. Our mission is to partner with our communuty to work towards a time when all animals have loving homes. We do not have a physical shelter or location.

We provide programs and services throughout Loudoun County Va, including Rescue, Foster and Adoption programs, Low Cost Spay/Neuter, a TNR and Working/ Barn Cat program, Youth and Humane Education programs; we partner with LCAS and Loudoun Interfaith Relief to provide pet food to families in need through our Pet Pantry program, and we participate in many different community events, festivals and fairs throughout the county and northern Virginia area.
