The American Red Cross Cascades Region, covering Oregon and Southwest Washington, is recruiting for a volunteer Disaster Health Services Regional Lead. This position supports the Disaster Health Services team in the region to meet our mission to prevent and alleviate human suffering in the face of emergencies. The Cascades Region responds to disasters both large and small in the Region and in other Regions around the country.

We are looking for a Registered Nurse to lead a robust team of health professionals in being trained and ready to respond. This position will support local Chapter Coordinators who each manage and support a team in their geographic area. The Regional Disaster Health Services Lead reports to and is supported by the Direct Services Support Manager and the Division Disaster Health Services Advisor.

We are looking for a dynamic leader with the ability to engage and motivate other volunteers, to partner with other Disaster teams and community partners, and the interest to become a subject matter expert in disaster related health concerns.

The incumbent will be responsible for quality assurance of program implementation, with an option to deploy nationally. Training and mentoring are provided, but self-motivation is needed to complete online courses and manage responsibilities on a flexible schedule. There are required meetings, and the technological skill to arrange and attend meetings remotely is highly desired.
