As the over 60 population in York and beyond continues to grow, the needs do also. JFS is an expert in elder care in York County. We focus on meeting needs that are unmet with programs and services. An emerging need is for volunteers to do the shopping for elders no longer able to do so for themselves. Volunteers are able to make your own hours and choose dates that work for you. You would receive a shopping list from our elder client, do the shopping and deliver the groceries to that specific elder.
There is also an opportunity to accompany a client to the grocery store to assist them with their own personal shopping. This would involve transporting the client to/from the grocery store and assisting with the shopping.
