Start as a Science Presenter Volunteer
All Visitor Experience volunteers start here! Learn all aspects of volunteering in the Visitor Experience department and receive on the job training.
Job Functions include:
Interactive cart activities on a variety of science-related topics
Provide educational support in museum exhibits
Engage with visitors using inquiry-based interactions
Assist with wayfinding, answering questions, and encouraging visitor interactions
Pick a track to gain additional experience
After volunteers have completed the Visitor Experience Training, they may continue to grow their volunteer experience by selecting one of the following museum tracks.
MakerPlace Track:
Assist with the daily operation of the MakerPlace including activity rotation and making techniques.
School Liaison Track:
Greet school groups and be their "tour guide" during their field trip.
Classes and Demo Track:
Assist the KSC educator in facilitating interactive classes and labs and/or lead an interactive class or lab as experience and skill dictate.
Early Childhood Track:
Engage children and/or parents in Science In Play through invitation, enhancement, and extension of the activities.

Orientation - Sunday, September 13 - 2 to 4pm
Three trainings will take place on Sunday afternoons from 2 to 4pm. Dates are TBD.

We greatly value our volunteers who are willing to share their time, expertise and experience. The Science Center offers volunteer opportunities for adults and teens ages 13 and older.
