Match rider requests with volunteer drivers following procedures in volunteer matchmaker’s handbook.
Strive to make good matches by location, availability, and preferences expressed by volunteer drivers, and riders.
Inform drivers of any special needs or situations such as vehicle requirements, or mobility issues.
Monitor calendar and avoid calling volunteer drivers already scheduled for transportation; monitor Participant Roster Report and avoid calling drivers whose general availability does not match the request, or who are noted to be out for a period of time.
Inform riders when a driver has been assigned.
Update and document volunteer driver availability on Participant Roster Report as changes occur.
Call volunteer driver and/or rider immediately to report a cancellation by either member.
Inform Ride Partners Coordinator of any issues or concerns.
Inform Ride Partners Coordinator of vacation dates and any changes in schedule.
Matchmaker Criteria:
Volunteer matchmakers must be members of Partners In Care and have an understanding of Partners In Care and its culture to enable effective interaction with both the volunteer drivers and members requesting rides.
Although the matchmaking time is flexible and ongoing, the preferred time commitment for volunteer matchmakers is one or two times per week, three hours per day, between Monday and Friday. Back-up volunteer matchmakers are needed for occasional days and shorter shifts to fill in when regularly scheduled volunteers are not available.
Computer literacy is helpful.
Qualifications:
Volunteer matchmakers must be detail oriented, have the ability to multi-task, and have good interpersonal skills.
Volunteer matchmakers must have good communication skills and be able to effectively interact with volunteer drivers and members requesting rides.

Description
Partners In Care is a credit exchange program designed to create community by linking older adults and with neighbors who volunteer their time to provide transportation, handyman services, and other errands. Participants may provide services, receive services, or both. Ride Partners provides mileage reimbursement to volunteer drivers.
