New Vision Organization, Inc, a 501 (C)(4) nonprofit Organization founded in 2004, to serve the incarcerated population nationwide, now focused on Massachusetts' First-Time Offenders of any offense, who are serving a Life/LWOP sentences, have and thus far served 20 years or more of their harsh sentence, In addition, to the incarcerated individuals having their Civil Rights Violated.
New Vision Organization is currently seeking a Grant Writer for the following purpose: 1) to retain legal representation for its indigent incarcerated clients and 2) to allow for stipends to the Organization's volunteers, assisting the incarcerated clients. NVO, Inc. is advocating to End Life/Life Without Parole for 1st Time Offenders in MA, with no prior history of involvement with the Law prior to their first and only mistake. Prisoners are too often stereotyped and Everyone deserves a second chance. We also seek to stop the severe Human/Civil Rights' Violations of the incarcerated population in Massachusetts Prisons. There has been high rates of suicides in Massachusetts Prisons which can be prevented if the abuses, deprivations, ongoing harassment's, medical and psychological neglect ceases. Transparency and Accountability is of great importance in prevention of suicides.
New Vision Organization, Inc was founded in 2004, in an effort to assist incarcerated men, women and youth, nationwide, although our focus now is SOLELY to advocate for FIRST-TIME OFFENDERS who were never previously involved with the law, prior to committing their first and only offense leading to a Life/LWOP sentence. Prisoners who committed their first offense prior to reaching the age of 25 years and prisoners who have thus far served TWENTY FIVE YEARS OR MORE OF THEIR SENTENCE . We seek Virtual Volunteers for Research, Legal Assistance, Community Outreach, networking and participating in meetings, events pertaining to prison reform goals and for media outreach. . We also seek Pro-bono
Lawyers assistance in some areas.
