The Food Bank relies on a network of more than 600 partner agencies to distribute food to people experiencing hunger in Los Angeles County.
Bethel AME Church has been distributing food to people in need for more than 30 years and serves more than 60 people each week. The agency is currently looking for volunteers who can help on Mondays and Wednesdays with the following tasks:
Mondays are their food delivery days, and they need volunteers to help receive, unload, inventory, and stock food products. Time commitment: 12 pm - 3 pm
Wednesdays are their distribution days, and they need volunteers to help with setting up and distributing food to clients. Time commitment: 6:30 am - 12 pm
Requirements and Skills
Must be at least 14 and physically be able to bend, stoop, and lift up to 40 lbs. Volunteers must also be able to stand on their feet for several hours at a time.
