Volunteer will choose weekday that will work for them to come every week. Preferably not Friday. Time is from 2:30-3:30 but students can feel free to stay until 4 working on their projects. Volunteer will help teacher to instruct students on knitting technique, especially in the beginning with casting on, knit and purl. Youtube videos will also be used. Mission Statement

Xaverian is a Catholic, college prep school for students grades 6-12. Located in the heart of Bay Ridge Brooklyn, Xaverian provides opportunities for their students to grow in their faith, intellect, leadership skills, artistic passions, athletic talents and more. Description

We are starting a knit/crochet club after school. Students will be able to learn how to knit and crochet, create craft projects and sip tea while socializing with other students. Knitting has been proven to have positive effects like reducing stress and anxiety. Knitting also develops key habits that lead to success in academics and in careers: persistence, concentration, and collaboration.
We are seeking an experienced knitter/crocheter to come help teach students how to knit and crochet in our after school club. Time is from 2:30- 3:30 on a weekday. Day of week is flexible but once chosen, it will be set as that day every week while school is in session. If not available to volunteer, donations of yarn and knitting needles/crochet hooks are also very much appreciated. Email tgreen@xaverian.org to get in touch
