Are you skilled at sewing or crocheting either as a hobby or profession? We are looking to partner with local individuals or companies who would like to teach sewing or crocheting to our 8-12 year old Club members once a month. Our goal is to provide exciting and engaging opportunities to the youth we serve. They have requested that we start a program around sewing and crocheting, and we need YOUR HELP to make that happen.
The time commitment would be a once a month, one hour long workshop between the hours of 3:00 pm and 6:00 pm. The workshop series would start in March and end in August (6-month period) with the opportunity to re-evaluate and continue the series if desired at the end of the 6-month period.
As a nonprofit, we do ask for volunteers make the contribution of the basic supplies needed for the program, or bring their own materials if possible.
Please contact Volunteer Manager, Lindsey Andella, at landella@lbgc.org if you are interested in learning more.

Description
With more than 100 years of history, the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Lowell has been serving generations of the community’s youth as a safe place to learn and grow. We currently have over 300 club members, and we strive to help them develop into valued, impactful citizens within their community.
Currently, 21.5% of the Lowell population is in poverty, making Lowell the 16th most impoverished city in Massachusetts. In the 2015-2016 academic year, almost 20% of Lowell High School students did not graduate within 4 years.
The purpose of the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Lowell is to provide the youth of Lowell with a safe space to challenge themselves academically, engage with their peers, adopt healthy habits, and become valued members of society.
