Evening Program Volunteer
Rock House Kids
We are looking for energetic volunteers to work with children ages 6-18 Monday through Thursday from 5-8 pm. Mondays and Wednesdays we serve First through Sixth graders; Tuesdays and Thursdays we serve Seventh through Twelfth graders.
The volunteer position:
Teacher/mentor for a specific grade level -or- classroom assistant
At least one evening per week.
An overview of our program:
Each night, our doors open at 5:00. The children play on the playground (weather permitting), watch movies, draw, etc., until dinner is served around 5:45. Every night they're with us, we serve the kids a hot meal. After dinner, the kids head to chapel for worship and a light lesson. Afterwards, they head to age appropriate classrooms for expounding on the chapel lesson. We provide the curriculum and related supplies for each night. At the end of the night, each child leaves with a kid-friendly food bag.
Rock House Kids is an ongoing year round program. We ask for at least a year long commitment.
Choose the day(s) of the week that best works for you! We have a great time with these precious, hungry and hurting children. We need volunteers that will faithfully support the evening programs by following the curriculum that is set forth for each day programming is available.
An application can be mailed, filled out at our office, or online at https://rockhousekids.org/contribute/volunteer/. We do a background check. If you have any questions, please call our office.
