Career Camp Description:
To promote independence for youth of all abilities, CIL hosts Career Camp during school breaks. CIL partners with local companies, nonprofits, community resources, and educational institutions. These partnerships provide opportunity for students to experience the process of employment, from interview to training, and develop skillsets to enhance their future independence. Career Camp Volunteers support CIL staff by working directly with youth camp participants to ensure a quality, hands on learning experience.
Career Camp Volunteer Requirements:
* Be at least 18 years of age
* Ability to volunteer for a minimum of two camp shifts (Monday 3/16/20 - Friday 3/20/20)
* Be flexible and understanding
* Willingness to travel off-property with group to supervise during partnership experiences
* Have reliable transportation (transportation for events will be supplied by CIL)
All Volunteer Requirements:
* Submit to a level 2 background screening and be approved prior to orientation
(cost of background screening to be incurred by CIL)
* Attend a two (2) hour orientation with CIL Staff at the Winter Park CIL Office the Friday prior to the start of camp (orientation times based on volunteer availability can be altered)
