Meals on Wheels Orange County has responded to an unprecedented increase of seniors that are in need of a safe and convenient way to access nutritious meals during the Covid-19 pandemic. We are currently serving about 150-200 older adults each week through our Grab & Go Program in Fountain Valley. We are in need of reliable and compassionate volunteers, who are willing to work behind the scenes to ensure this important community program continues!

To clarify: This particular volunteer opportunity is NOT for a meals on meals driver. You will not be taking meals to senior’s homes. Instead, this volunteer role is actually at the Senior Center for the "Grab & Go" program. In this role you will be helping staff members/volunteers organize and bag frozen meals for seniors who will be coming to the center to pick up these meals. You will help prep the packaged meals and set up food for the distribution, or possibly assist with registration, etc. Please note: For this position you must be able to stand, bend, reach, use hands & arms, etc. throughout the shift. You will be in an "assembly line" type setting in the kitchen/packing area.

This would be an ongoing weekly commitment for as long as you are able

Important Info: All sites are practicing social distancing, and have several other safety procedures in place, such as wearing gloves & face masks for ALL volunteer positions.
