We are dedicated to improving the lives of America’s Warriors facing mobility challenges and trauma related conditions such as PTSD and TBI by providing the highest quality service dogs and canine assisted therapeutic programs. Because we are a non-profit organization, we rely heavily on help from our dedicated volunteers and supporters within the community.

Paws for Purple Hearts is looking for a bright, energetic, and motivated volunteer to help assist us in the management of our social media.

Duties include:

1. Support regional social media efforts by managing the regional Facebook/Instagram page and providing Twitter and Instagram posts for our national social media pages
2. Produce targeted marketing materials for social media, donors, affiliations, PR contacts and national development efforts:
3. Provide marketing materials to donors, volunteers and the community
4. Develop targeted marketing pieces
5. Maximize and expand current social media efforts
6. Publicize the regional activities of the organization, its programs and goals
7. Help recruit volunteers as puppy petters, puppy parents and other roles that will support organizational needs

Prior experience is preferred, but not required for this position and includes but is not limited to:

1. Knowledge or some experience with/of Service/Assistance Animals, ADA laws, language and the types of assistance dogs
2. Preferably military background or experience
3. A minimum of two years in a fundraising/communication role with a nonprofit organization
4. Some experience in public relations, marketing and social media management in the military or nonprofit sectors
5. Work in or knowledge of Post-Traumatic Stress, Traumatic Brain Injuries and/or mobility disabilities
6. Work in or knowledge of the Veteran and Active Duty Military communities
