Do you have a love for Children AND Jesus? We are seeking enthusiastic, compassionate volunteers to provide a caring and safe place. Where a child can be introduced to Jesus Christ and be discipled as they grow spiritually and emotionally through music, stories and activities based on the Bible as the foundation. This is only a 2 hour commitment just once a month on Mondays & Thursdays 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. in 2020. This is a perfect fit for individuals and is family friendly opportunity and great for small or youth groups, Sunday School classes, retired teachers and more.

Background Check and Volunteer Orientation is required prior to volunteering for these opportunities!

Baby Buddies - Can you rock a baby or read a story over and over again or even get on the floor to play cars, play make believe or dress the doll? If yes, then Baby and Toddler Buddies is for you! We are also seeking Volunteer Team Leaders to express excitement, energy, and love for God’s word through age appropriate music, stories and play time with our babies and toddlers. (Resources provided)

Bright Space - We are in need of volunteers that love to play with energetic bundles of JOY. If this is you, then the Bright Space is the place to be. We are also seeking Volunteer Team Leaders that will lead the weekly Bible story, music time and pray with our 3-5 year olds. (Resources provided)

Kids Club - Do you love spreading the love of Jesus to elementary-aged children, then this is the role for you!? We are seeking volunteers who would love to help our students grow in their faith. We are also seeking Volunteer Team Leaders that will teach and lead the group through music, Bible stories, videos, crafts and other activities. (Resources Provided)

Teen Scene - Can you play a challenging game of air hockey or monopoly? If you love teenagers and have a strong desire to see them make good choices and grow in their faith, we are looking for your help! We are in need of volunteers to be a friend to the friendless. We are also looking for Volunteer Team Leaders that will share Christian music and videos, messages from the Bible and other activities. (Resources Provided)

Description

Open Door Mission is a Gospel Rescue Mission founded in 1954.

Open Door Mission is a Gospel Rescue Mission that meets the need of individuals and families while inspiring HOPE for lasting change that breaks the cycle of homelessness and poverty. Daily, Open Door Mission offers 917 safe shelter beds to those experiencing homelessness, serves more than 3,500 meals to feed the hungry and empowers more than 1,000 people living in poverty to remain in their own homes through homeless prevention resources.

To meet the basic physical needs of the hungry and homeless, the Open Door Mission's Day Facility Services provide free transportation from the downtown area to Open Door Mission and Lydia House.

Open Door Mission offers life-changing programs for those recovering from life-altering addictions and abuse to break the cycle of homelessness and poverty.
