Frazier History Museum

This volunteer position is open to rising 9th grade high school students (a minimum age of 13). Volunteers will assist the staff with all camp activities: games and crafts, snacks/lunch, and visits to the galleries or behind-the-scenes tours. Volunteers will be working with rising 1st - 6th graders attending the Frazier International History Museum’s week-long summer camps.

Summer Camp Aides will work from 8:30-4:30 Monday - Friday. Aides must be available for all five days of a camp session, although they may apply to work more than one session.

The Frazier History Museum’s mission is to provide experiences that encourage inquiry as a catalyst for building individual respect and cooperation.


The museum brings history to life everyday through live interpretations by costumed interpreters, multimedia presentations, educational programming and hands-on learning.

Covering 1,000 years of history, the museum’s priceless collection is housed in a 100,000 square foot, state-of-the-art facility on downtown Louisville’s historic West Main Street. The Frazier Museum is the only institution to have a partnership with the British Royal Armouries, making it the only museum of its kind in the world.

  • Opportunity is on school break days during the school year, for one-week intervals during the summer from June 1- August 7, and during winter break. Day is 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
  • This opportunity is EXCLUSIVELY for middle and high schoolers. ONLY applicants under 18 will be considered.
