Best Friends merchandise is not only awesome and stylish, but it also helps save lives! Sales of merchandise - sold online, at Best Friends Animal Sanctuary and at our lifesaving centers across the country - directly benefit the animals. Plus, when people wear or carry Best Friends gear out and about, they spread the word about homeless pets and our goal to Save Them All. That’s why it’s so important that we continue to increase our merchandise sales and build and maintain an optimal retail assortment at our selling locations. And that’s where the retail lifesaver position comes in.
As a retail lifesaver at a Best Friends Lifesaving Center, you will:
- Keep the retail area at our lifesaving center well-merchandised and stocked, following visual merchandising guidelines
- Keep track of sales and inventory as you partner with the merchandising team to provide feedback and make product recommendations
- Place orders to maintain a healthy inventory and a balanced assortment, based on needs and budget
- Help increase merchandise sales
- Track and input volunteer hours worked into the Best Friends volunteer database.
- Assist with product photo shoots for our online store (at the Los Angeles and Salt Lake City lifesaving center locations)

The mission of Best Friends is to end the killing in America's animal shelters and create a time when there are No More Homeless Pets. We do this by building community programs and partnerships all across the nation. We believe that by working together we can Save Them All.
Description
Best Friends Animal Society in Utah works collaboratively with animal rescue groups, city shelters and passionate individuals who are all dedicated to the mission of making Utah a no-kill state. The Best Friends Lifesaving Center in Sugarhouse provides adoptions, animal fostering opportunities, and serves as a base of operations for our community cat and shelter support programs. Volunteers help us achieve our goals in many ways, including fostering animals in their own homes, distributing food in our Pet Food Pantry, keeping our center clean and healthy for the animals, spreading our message to the community at outreach events, and driving animals to where they need to go.
Best Friends Animal Society is a nationwide leader in the No-Kill movement. Founded on the idea that no animals should have to die in shelters while resources exist to help them, our organization began with the Best Friends Animal Sanctuary in Kanab, UT, the world's largest no-kill sanctuary for companion animals. Our focus on a better world through kindness to animals has led to a variety of programs, including efforts to end breed-discriminatory legislation and unethical "puppy-mill" breeding operations, advocacy of Trap-Neuter-Return programs for community cats, and rescue transports to help animals in overcrowded shelters find homes. We believe that together we can Save Them All!
