Mission Statement
Founded in 1907 and rooted in traditions of charity and justice, Catholic Charities supports families, youth, aging adults, adults with disabilities through social services and opportunities for healthy growth and development.
Description
We believe that families must be supported and strengthened. We believe seniors should be allowed to age in place with dignity. We believe immigrants and refugees should be welcomed with love and compassion. We believe every person deserves a chance to grow in safety. We believe we all have a responsibility to care for our neighbor. We believe in developing young minds and encouraging compassion in our community. We believe in strengthening families and reducing poverty. Rooted in our faith-based values of charity and justice, the mission of Catholic Charities is to serve and advocate for the poor, the sick, the distressed, children, youth, families, immigrants, and seniors, regardless of their faith.
Thanks to the help of volunteers and staff in 2017 we served almost 35,000 clients. 3,024 clients were served by Homelessness and Housing Services. Almost 5,000 refugee and immigrant consultations were provided and 2,332 seniors were served. In addition 25,459 youth were served in San Francisco, Marin and San Mateo.
