Frog and Toad
Frog and Toad fly a kite!

Want to help create fantastic family theater? Then join Wild Swan and assist individuals, families, and groups to find their seats in Towsley Auditorium at our public performances of Frog and Toad. Or get on the Set Up, Tear Down, or Craft crews! Volunteer at one of these times:

  • Saturday, January 25, 2020
    • 9:30a - 10:15a Setup Crew
    • 9:30a - 12:45p Craft Assistant
    • 10:00a - 11:15a Usher
    • 12:15p - 1:30p Tear Down Crew

You are generally the first smiling face someone sees when coming to a Wild Swan production, so it is important that you are enthusiastic, professional, and courteous to our patrons. You can be an usher and help patrons to their seats as well as make up programs. Or volunteer as part of the setup or tear down crew and move boxes and tables, take inventory, lay out items, hang up signs, etc. Finally you can assist children with a simple craft both before and after our performance. All volunteers are invited to find an open seat and enjoy the show on us if they like.

Help introduce young children to the beauty and excitement of live theater. Join us!

Frog and Toad: Two of Arnold Lobel’s most beloved characters, Frog and Toad, show how good friends help each other through thick and thin, cheering each other through the hard times, and celebrating life’s joys. Join Frog and Toad as they greet spring, plant a garden, and share a basket of cookies.

About Wild Swan Theater

Location:

6175 Jackson Rd. - Ste. B, Ann Arbor, MI 48103, US

Mission Statement

Wild Swan Theater is dedicated to producing professional children's theater of the highest artistic quality and to making that theater accessible to low income, minority and disabled children through low ticket prices and innovative outreach programs.

Description

Wild Swan Theater was founded in 1980. Since its inception, the company of professional adult actors, dancers, musicians, visual artists and American Sign Language interpreters has performed for hundreds of thousands of children. As well as many public performances in its home base of Ann Arbor, the company tours regularly to theaters, museums and public libraries as well as offering residencies and workshops at schools and hospitals serving disabled children statewide. Wild Swan has pioneered a number of audience accessibility measures for disabled individuals that are models in the state and have earned the praise of educators and health specialists across the country. All productions are performed in American Sign Language as well as spoken English with the signing completely integrated into the productions. A program for blind individuals includes pre-performance backstage "touch tours". Audio-description, a simultaneous description of staging, lights, and costumes, transmitted electronically to participating audience members during pauses in the dialogue, permits audience members who are blind or visually impaired to have access to all the visual elements of the production.
