The Smart Farm is Growing and 2021 is a pivotal year. We are seeking a permaculture enthusiast that is versed in environmental studies and has the confidence to lead groups, create curriculum and help build our environmental learning center. As we maneuver the pandemic landscape outside curriculum is more important than ever.
This is a ground floor opportunity as we build for the future. At this time, this is a volunteer position but ultimately we see this as a paid role.

The Smart Farm will cultivate a healthy, eco-friendly community by: 1. Offering adults and children learning opportunities in sustainable farming; 2. Promoting the benefits of sustainable farming; and, 3. Donating fresh produce to support our neighbors in need.
Description
LEARN: Smart Farm is a permaculture farm for the Barrington area and nearby communities. Adults, children, and students learn about their agricultural heritage, organic regenerative farming, the slow food movement, and best practices for living "green," sustainable lives.
GROW : Volunteer to help us grow our vegetables, using the latest techniques in integrated pest management, water and soil conservation, and composting.
SHARE: A portion of our produce is shared with local food pantries and other hunger relief agencies.
