"MLK Day: Continuing the Legacy of Dr. King", Emmaus’ 7th Annual MLK Day of Service event, will take place on Monday, January 20, 2020, at the Trinity Episcopal Church in Haverhill. This family-friendly event will feature local cultural groups, a community resource fair, children’s activities, give-a-ways, breakfast, and a hot lunch. Our main goal is to provide food, shelter, and educational resources to our local homeless and low-income populations.
Throughout the day, multicultural groups will host exhibits and activities to educate those in attendance about their heritage. Episodes of TV shows relating to social justice will also be playing as entertainment for our guests.
In addition, there will be a community resource fair in the sanctuary of Trinity Episcopal Church to provide access to information, health screenings, and resources from a variety of local community health partners. Emmaus will also provide a nutritious breakfast and a hot lunch; providing the opportunity for all to dine together as a community. Finally, raffles and healthy family give-a-ways will be made available.
