Volunteers are the heart of our Meals on Wheels program! Meals on Wheels is looking for volunteers to deliver meals to homebound seniors and adults with disabilities in our community. We offer hot meals hand-delivered by volunteers Monday through Friday with the option of having frozen meals delivered on Fridays for the weekend. Volunteers provide the seniors with connection to our community and a warm, friendly smile when they arrive at the door.
FAQ’s
Q: Who should Volunteer?
A: Anyone looking to make a difference! Volunteering is a great opportunity for retirees, college students, business professionals, teachers, shift workers, stay at home moms and dads, church groups and others.
Q: Are there any requirements for volunteers?
A: Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age or older, with a valid Oregon driver’s license and auto insurance. All Meals on Wheels volunteers will be required to complete a background check.
Q: Do I need to have a car?
A: Reliable transportation is needed. Most routes will require you to have a vehicle.
Q: When can I volunteer?
A: Meal delivery is done on weekdays from 10:30am to 1pm. Routes generally take an hour or less. Volunteers can work as little or as much as they like - working once a week, a couple of times a week, or as an on-call driver when extra help is needed. Choose the day and frequency that works best for you.
