Goal of Role

To assist program participants and ensure quality customer service by directing people to their swim lessons and providing needed information

Tasks and Activities

· Registration: (min. 2 volunteers) Welcome participants and check them in, checks swim lessons schedules for participant’s names

· Usher: (min. 4 volunteers) Directs participants to their instructor and location of lessons

· Swim Instructor Aid: (min. 4 volunteers) Helps swim instructors in the water during lessons

· Volunteers may be asked additional aquatics questions, and may need to be prepared to redirect to appropriate person

4 hrs. per day; some flexibility available

☒ At specified times: 3:30-7:15pm, M-F; some flexibility available

Qualifications and skills desired

· Able to communicate effectively

· Comfort in an aquatics environment

· Provide outstanding customer service in a fast-paced environment

· Enjoys working and interacting with children

Training and other requirements

· Must pass background and reference checks, and attend volunteer orientation & training prior to start date

· Must complete all Child Abuse Prevention Trainings

· Must sign a Confidentiality Agreement

· Additional on-the-job training will be provided
