The Corona Virus does not change the opportunities teachers can use in the classroom through the Civil Air Patrol and many resources are perfect for virtual with lesson plans already prepared.

Alabama Educators - public, private and homeschool!!! If you are looking for free aerospace/STEM lesson plans, activities, textbooks, products and programs to use in any classroom, after-school or enrichment program, we hope CAP will have something to help you! Our products and programs can be used across disciplines and in both core and elective studies. CAP supports America’s communities through emergency response, flying and ground services, youth development, and promotion of air, space and cyber power.

Description

Civil Air Patrol is congressionally chartered and operates as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation. CAP performs services for the federal government as the official civilian auxiliary of the U.S. Air Force and for states/local communities as a nonprofit organization. CAP is made up of eight geographic regions consisting of 52 wings (the 50 states, Puerto Rico and the District of Columbia). It is a strategic partner of the Air Force, serving as a member of its Total Force. CAP has three primary missions - Emergency Services, Cadet Programs and Aerospace Education. Civil Air Patrol -Saves an average of 80 lives per year -Operates one of the largest fleet of single-engine piston aircraft in the world, with 560 planes currently in the fleet -Consists of 1,437 squadrons and approximately 56,000 volunteer youth and adult members nationwide -Flew over 104,500 hours in 2016 -Contributed nearly $167 million in man-hours in past year, serving the disaster relief and emergency service needs of communities, states and the nation.

  • Must be at least 18
  • Depends on your availability an schedule. You schedule in your classroom setting. After becoming an AE member you gain access to all the materials needed to assist you in your school setting.
  • You can also participate in our TOP program, Teacher Orientation Program. You have the opportunity to fly with one of our CAP Pilots. Not mandatory but what a great opportunity to take back the science of flying to take back to your classroom.
