Are you a Veteran looking to give a little of your time to support other Veterans? Provide the ultimate gift of giving and contribute a little of your time and your heart as a Veteran Companionship Volunteer for Veteran patients at Compassus Hospice. Veteran Volunteers can fullfill a unique and critical role in comprehensive, holistic care for the Veteran at the of end of life. As a volunteer you may spend time visiting with patients and engaging in activities of their choice, such as reading, going outside, playing cards or just chatting. Or they may wish to discuss their service with you. If you feel called to be present for someone in this manner and support them on their journey, please call Kim Iannacci at 978 777-8222 or email at Kimberly.Iannacci@compassus.com.

Our service area includes Newburyport down to Revere, Ayer, Westford, Lowell, Haverhill, Salem, Malden, Medford, Stoneham, Peabody, Andover/N. Andover, Chelmsford, Wilmington and Billerica to name just some of the towns.
Compassus Hospice volunteers play a vital role in carrying out our mission to preserve each patient’s dignity while removing the fear associated with dying. Individuals who are 18 and older who are willing to share one to four hours per week are encouraged to apply to our program. Serving as a volunteer will enrich your own life in ways you can’t begin to imagine.
No previous experience in the medical field is necessary, and you will be prepared for your role with a free, comprehensive training program. This training will help you learn how to provide emotional support, companionship and respite care to patients and families.
