JOB SUMMARY: Assists with children's groups and with special activities and outings offered by Safe Harbor. May also assist with child residents at the shelter.
DUTIES:
- Assist with planning and preparation of group activities and special events
- Greet children; welcome them to group
- Direct children to age appropriate activity area; help them to get settled; introduce new children to others
- Inform children of group rules
- Engage children in activities
- Assist children in developing appropriate behaviors (sharing, taking turns, manners, etc.) and coming to non-violent conflict resolutions
- Assist in snack preparation, serving and clean-up
- Enlist children to clean up and put away toys and supplies at the end of group
- Prepare children to leave group in an orderly manner
- May assist with facilitating school baed support groups
