Grant Writer for Human Rights Testimony Database Project

Save to Favorites

ORGANIZATION: CIVIC WORKS

In locations where the state itself performs acts of violence and enforced disappearances of its citizens, no system for globally recording testimonies of disappearances exist. Protestors in Hong Kong; Kurds in Syria; activists in Iraq - their stories may appear on social media, but they are not being collected systematically in one place except for a few prominent dissidents.

One system has been created specifically for the Uyghur population at http://shahit.biz, but the creator of this site does not have the resources to expand it globally. (Note, if you would like to volunteer for that specifically please visit the shahit.biz site. The image used for this posting is a real person and you can volunteer to help her, this is her entry: https://shahit.biz/eng/#10669)

We have a design in place for a global testimony database, and have confirmed the need with several organizations and individuals.

This opportunity is for a grant writer to apply for funding for the project. Note that shahit.biz is also in need of funding and we may direct some of the funds to experts working on shahit.biz in order to support that project as well.

About CIVIC WORKS

Location:

10923 Progress Court #3326, Rancho Cordova, CA 95741, US

Mission Statement

We created civ.works as a platform for all of us to work together to overcome the corrupting influence of money in politics. Together we can address bad policy, legislation and to hold all of our elected officials accountable. For democracy to work -our government must represent "We the People". civ.works: Together. We can.

Description

civ.works is a privacy protected social platform built for meaningful civic action.

The concept of civ.works is to finally provide a societal machine to stand up against something created nearly 50 years ago -and begin the process of empowering citizens again. We are building a platform together -against an incredibly mature and well-funded machine. Your volunteer efforts will be helping us collectively build something powerful and important.
