Thank you for your interest in volunteering at the Heart Strings Gala, for Band of Angels on Saturday February 1st, 2020.
Volunteers are needed to assist with various activities to make the Heart Strings Gala a success. Shifts are 2-3 hours. Volunteers will receive a Band of Angels shirt and will be provided food. Volunteers need to be 18+ for most volunteer needs.
Set-up, noon - 4pm (come anytime for help for 2 hours)
* Set up silent auction areas
* Assist with set up of the tables including table decorations and other details
* Assist with the set up of the VIP tent
* Lighting lifting might be required
Coat Check, 5:00 - 7:30 OR 7:30 - 10:30
* check in coats for guests
* collect donations (tips) for Band of Angels (not required)
Greeting/Registration, 4:30 - 6:30 OR 6:30 - 8:30
* Greet our guests at the door and provide friendly directions to tables
* Assist with check in as needed
* Answer questions about parking, food and other such details related to the event
* Great customer service is required
Main Area, 5:00-7:30
* Assist with serving passed appetizers and assisting with the food management throughout the evening
* Clean and clear tables where needed
Silent Auction, 4:30 - 7:00 OR 7:00 - 9:00
* Assist guests with online bidding capabilities
* Comfort with general computer skills required
* Silent Auction ends at 8:30
Tear Down 8:30-close (10:30)
* Assist with all clean up of the space
* Assist with silent auction packing and distribution
* Load truck with all supplies and left over items

Mission Statement
Band of Angels is a 501c3 Charity that collects music instruments and provides them to children in need for free so they can join band and orchestra programs. We also provide scholarships for area children to attend summer music camp. Donated instruments are refurbished and restored before given to a child. Unrepairable instruments are repurposed to benefit our programs. We accept monetary and instrument donations, as well as run fundraising events such as the Heart Strings Gala charity concert and Art That Blows, a charity art auction.
Description
Band and orchestra instruments no longer being played are collecting dust in homes across the Kansas City area. There are many disadvantaged students across the metro who would love to join band or orchestra, but can’t due to the cost of an instrument. Band of Angels collects used music instruments from those who no longer need them and helps make them available to kids in need who couldn’t otherwise afford them.
