We are looking for an intern or a volunteer that can help us with our Publix Bowl program.
What is a Publix Bowl?
Publix stores around the area gather for a night of bowling fun! Bowlers are encouraged to raise $50 on behalf of the Muscular Dystrophy Association to bowl for their store and have the chance to gather lane sponsors from local businesses to contribute to the overall fundraising goal. The event will require volunteers to help with collecting money, letting bowlers know which lane they'll be in, giving away contest prizes, taking photos of each store, and cheering on bowlers.
Intern/Volunteer Responsibilities
This intern would be responsible for successful execution of Publix Bowls rolled out within approximately 16 districts (16 bowing events). Duties include, but are not limited to, communicating with Publix employee point of contact to ensure they meet their goals and expectations at their bowls and assist in any areas to ensure they have a great experience in working with MDA; writing and distributing newsletters throughout the event to clearly communicate and relay information while motivating and encouraging the teams; learning about all aspects of MDA’s mission, progress, and programs and clearly communicate them to volunteers, Publix employees, sponsors, and others within the community; ability to track and organize banner orders and relay them to printer to ensure timely and accurate delivery to each bowl; ability to attend initial manager meetings, bowl kick off meetings, and bowling events; ability to create and post positive and motivating Facebook posts and create photo albums for the events; ability to track payments and funds received in excel to ensure goals are being met and what payments are outstanding; work with the program lead on any duties needed for this event; help organize and oversee any volunteers for this event.
