Winter River is a fourth grade school field trip that challenges students to use their recreation and orienteering skills. Volunteers assist at one of six orienteering stations. No special skills are needed for these stations and volunteers will connect with their station leader upon arrival on how to best assist. Generally, volunteers will assist with station rotations, setting up stations, handing out and assisting students with equipment, providing students with information, sorting students into teams, and encouraging students while they experience a Minnesota winter event. Volunteers need to dress properly for being outdoors in winter for 2-3 hours.
